April 16, 2002 Ponderay, ID. - Representatives from Boeing's Long Beach, CA. facility presented Cygnus, Inc with an award for their participation in the C-17 Program as part of a year-long celebration marking the delivery of the 100th C-17 aircraft to the USAF, scheduled this fall.
Following DeVoss' presentation, remarks were given by Maj. Roger Westermeyer of Fairchild Air Force Base regarding the importance of the C-17 to the military. He also expressed the satisfaction that Air Force pilots have with the C-17. Members of state and local government shared words of congratulations and a representative from U.S. Senator Larry Craig's office presented Cygnus with a letter which was read into the Congressional Record by Senator Craig, honoring Cygnus Inc.'s involvement in the C-17 Program.
Employees of Cygnus, Inc. were asked to sign a commemorative banner, bearing the Company's logo, which will be displayed in the main hangar at Boeing's Long Beach, Ca. facility.
