Full Job Description

Cygnus is a high-quality precision sheet metal and machine parts manufacturing company looking for an experienced Operations Deputy Manager. The Operations Deputy Manager will support senior management with implementing cost reductions and process improvements at all work centers throughout the company. They will work with department managers and section leaders of production employees seeing that they are staffed and equipped with the necessary tools and materials to meet customer quality and delivery demands.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforce existing or develop and implement new processes coordinated with senior management to increase the reliability and continually improve the quality and efficiency of products provided.
  • Recommend new equipment purchases to enhance quality, capabilities, and productivity.
  • Develop staff skills and openly communicate to encourage new ideas and innovation.
  • Exercise fiscal responsibility through making cost effective purchasing decisions.
  • Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and schedule company workflow.
  • Be able to read, understand and learn customer specifications, Cygnus operating procedures, and work order instructions to certify part Quality Inspection and acceptance.
  • Evaluate resource needs and recommend hiring staff as appropriate.
  • Position requires Specialized Education/Experience/ Skills and/or Knowledge:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree or 6 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in aerospace CNC machining, manufacturing, or engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in production scheduling preferred.
  • Ability to create and unify a work culture environment that reflects the company Code of Ethics.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.
  • Effective communication and teambuilding skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and spatial cognizance to understand and utilize mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • This is a full- time day shift position working 6am - 2:30pm or 7am - 3:30pm M-F
